San Marino

South Pasadena

Incorporated in 1913 and with a current population of nearly 38,000, this picturesque town in the San Rafael Hills adjacent to Pasadena, is a community of single-family homes. San Marino CA real estate includes no condominiums, townhomes or apartments.

There are strict zoning and historical preservation codes protecting the residences, most of which were constructed between 1920 and 1950.

Noted for having a public school system that is among the finest in the nation, San Marino is also home to the world-renowned Huntington Library — housing art, rare books and historical documents – and to such landmarks as El Molino Viejo, built in 1816 as a grist mill and now the oldest commercial structure in Southern California, as well as the Edwin Hubble House, former home of one of the greatest astronomers in the United States.
